Welcome to the first version of MickeyWiki, a Flash interactive Disneyland map wiki. If there are any other map based wikis in existence I haven't been able to find them, so it is quite possible that this is the first. For those of you confused let me explain a little bit.

Wiki: A website that allows users to add and edit content collectively.

WIki Map: A wiki in which all articles are related to a location on a map and navigation between articles takes place within that map.

It is my hope that as this site grows it will become a comprehensive directory of Disneyland information, but right now I need the help of volunteers like you to add map points and articles. Please keep it clean (Disney means family friendly) and fact based, avoid opinion, speculation and copyrighted material, anything that does not meet our standards will be deleted.

Because this is a new idea I am seeking constructive feedback to help me improve the map. Please contact me with any ideas for new functionality.

Credit where credit is due. The aerial photos are from the USGS they were painstakingly stiched together by somebody named Zan at this site www.zansstuff.com/aerialdl.shtml. We are using TikiWiki to power the wiki, it was easy to set up and modify to work with Flash. Last but not least, the Flash map navigation and data handling is powered by the iChart Interactive Mapping System which I really can't recommend enough for ease of use and power, but mostly because I developed it :)
